Portis rips Arrington
Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis ripped former linebacker LaVar Arrington for leaving the team because he felt threatened by him.
Portis said that Arrington was the man of the team and town, but when he arrived in a trade with the Denver Broncos, everything started to change.
He said Arrington couldn’t deal with the fact that another player was coming in and would have a major impact, so he didn’t want to be in D.C. anymore.
Arrington fired back at Portis on his radio show, saying that the running back is making things up and that he is too respectful of the game to do such things.
He also claimed that all of the outfits that Portis would don during the week leading up to games undermined the push of African Americans into the sport.
