The Washington Redskins became a part of NFL history and in all the wrong ways in a 19-14 loss to the Detroit Lions.
The Redskins gave the Lions their first win in their past 20 games, and the sad part is that it wasn’t a fluke. Not in the least.
In fact, the Lions honestly looked like they were better than the Redskins, which has to really concern their fans.
The Redskins nearly lost to the hapless St. Louis Rams last week and have now fallen to the worst team in NFL history.
I’d think that head coach Jim Zorn needs a few wins a hurry if he wants to keep his job.

The Washington Redskins had a chance to gain some momentum at home, but they left with more questions than answers.
The Redskins turned what should have been a beatdown of the St. Louis Rams into a narrow, 9-7 victory that was way too close for comfort.
Washington had little problem moving up and down the field, but turnovers and red zone ineffeciency cost them dearly.
Quarterback Jason Campbell had a solid day, passing for 242 yards and no interceptions, but he also couldn’t guide the team into the end zone.
The Redskins now travel to Detroit to face the Lions in what should be an easy victory.

Washington Redskins starting running back Clinton Portis will miss the team’s final preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a bruised rib.
It was previously reported that Portis had suffered a bruised knee, but those reports were false.
If it were a regular season game, Portis would have played. However, the Redskins want to exercise extreme caution with their veteran workhorse.
Portis is expected to share more carries this year with backup Ladell Betts to keep him fresh throughout the season.
Teams typically don’t play their starters more than a quarter at most during the preseason finale, so Portis is likely only missing a couple of offensive series.
